Types of Natural Wood • Teak • Ireko • Ipe TEAK Teak is rich natural oils and a large tree with gray to grayish brown branches also is a beautiful golden to dark brown, sometimes reddish brown, with a straight grain, sometimes wavy. Teak is rich natural oils, and dresses to a very smooth finish. Physical Properties Because of its natural oils, teak is very durable and resistant to moisture, any weather conditions, infestation and warping. Beside the durability nature, teak furniture is very smooth and does not splinter. It is hard and tight structure. Application It is difficult to cut with a saw. Easily keeps the glue and sanding is easy to do. Maintenance Because of its natural oils, teak is very durable. In winter times, the color of teak wood turns gray, this is a natural process, It is redintegrated with a special maintenance and lubrication.
